Our Mission Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold: 1. Recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and; 2. Provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.
Beta Mu Theta's Mission The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
You must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program.
You must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework that may be applied to an associate degree (part-time students may be eligible).*
You must generally have a grade point average of 3.5.
You must receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where presently enrolled.
You must adhere to the moral standards of the society.

If you are interested in joining please feel free to attend any meeting. We would gladly answer any questions and start the membership process. Should you decide to join, please bring a copy of your college transcript, completed application, and membership dues. Membership dues are currently $65. All proceeds from membership dues go to Phi Theta Kappa international and their benefits. Acceptance into Phi Theta Kappa includes membership into the international branch as well as our local branch, Beta Mu Theta.
